Tour hours: 1pm to 5pm
The Heritage Institute offers a tour of Villa Eilenroc, a neoclassical villa located on the seafront, followed by afternoon tea.
In 1860, Hugh-Hope Loudon, former governor of the Dutch East Indies, purchased a plot of land at the tip of Cap d’Antibes and had a residence built there in 1867 according to plans by Charles Garnier.
After passing through the hands of several owners, it was bought in 1927 by an American couple, Louis Dudley Beaumont and Hélène Thomas. They organised prestigious receptions and parties there, to which celebrities from the French Riviera were invited.
In 1982, the villa was bequeathed to the town of Antibes Juan-les-Pins, on condition that the property be used by the town for exhibitions, receptions and to welcome the public to the gardens.
